What is the LOCSD?
The Los Osos CSD is an elected body that serves water to about half of the town, and provides fire protection and drainage services to all within the urban reserve line. It has the authority to sponsor parks. It is represented on the Basin Management Committee (BMC) along with the other two town water purveyors and the County of San Luis Obispo. The BMC will be the directing body on water preservation efforts for Los Osos.
Why vote for me?
I have in-depth qualifications for the role of CSD Director based on past accomplishments (see the About Vicki page) and current involvement with the CSD as a member of the Parks and Recreation Committee, and, from my 7-year experience as Chairperson of the Los Osos Community Advisory Council from June 2009 to May 2016. I am currently Vice-Chair of LOCAC. I attend Basin Management Committee meetings and have learned much about Los Osos water issues.
My expertise is in consensus building. I specialize in collaborative communication and feedback skills. As a result, over the past seven years LOCAC has been able to increase public participation, accommodate diverging views, and bring community members to agreement on key issues.
As a Director, I will continually strive to foster the collaborative decision making process and the continued development of civil discourse that I introduced to LOCAC.
